Works fine, but needs a better magnet Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
Works nicely in the 2 metre & 70 centimetre bands, very good return loss >12 dB on a Wiltron (1.7 : 1 VSWR) and was capable of pulling in a 2 metre repeater at 160km (100 miles) distant over flat terrain. Nice black powder coated finish, looks unobtrusive. 3 metres of LMR100 coax is thin & flexible, fits through a door rubber seal fine and is plenty long enough for most situations. Be careful not to kink or knot the fine coax cable. Angle adjustment for the antenna permits mounting just about anywhere on the vehicle. Perfect for travels in a rental car or other temporary installation.
Magnet can keep the antenna on the vehicle at 120 km/h / 75 mph. Only drawback is if you're driving into a strong headwind, or a large truck passes going in the opposite direction, the magnet isn't strong enough to cope with that, and the antenna then comes away and bounces against the body of the car held by the coax. My suggestion is to mount the antenna on the vehicle away from the side of on-coming traffic. That helped reduce the incidence of the antenna coming unstuck when a large truck passed in the opposite direction by about 50%. Otherwise, a nice little antenna. Purchased locally for AUD $49.00

Great little antenna for 2 meters Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I needed a small antenna for my 2 meter Yaesu VX-150 (5 watt). I think I paid under $60 for this at AES. Works great! Easy to put or take down. i hit the Las Vegas repeaters at plus 20 miles.
