Wonderful Little Rig Time Owned: more than 12 months.
This is a little-known 100-watt HF transceiver which is type-accepted for marine, land-mobile, and other uses. There is a little "thingy" (a technical radio term!)which plugs into the front, and which configures the radio for one of three types.

I've had one on my boat for years, and have installed several others on client's and friend's boats.

Very simple radio, a minimum of controls, but a keeper. Same size as the Yaesu FT-900 & same mounting bracket, mic, etc.

A good chioce for Marine and Amateur use Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
This is a decent rig for a Marine operator or a new Ham. Very easy to operate. Very few controls but what is there is functional. Has 4 banks of 20 memories each plus VFO tune. Keypad for entering frequency info as well as programming memories. Does AM, USB, LSB, CW and DATA. Also has AME for marine emergency channel. Optional narrow CW filter and wide AM filters. Not for the DXer or the serious contester but fine for a back up or mobile use. Has built in NB and controller for optional auto antenna tuner. Available as a Marine version, a Commercial version or Amateur version. Also can be set up as a general coverage transceiver 1.6 through 29.995 Mcs. 100 watt transmitter. Can be found at reasonable prices on the usual auction and swap sites.
