Description:
A new addition to the EndFedz line, the EF-40/20 is a dual band (40M / 20M) end fed antenna rated at 100W. A unique tuning stub allows for independent tuning of the two bands. Overall length is approximately 66'. As with all of the EndFedz, no tuner is required.

Very surprised! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I read the reviews, they looked good. Still, I've been let down before on more than one occasion. My QTH really requires an endfed antenna as a normal centre fed would look horrible and the XYL would not allow it.

I hooked this antenna up in line with my Longwire of the same length. I noticed it was a little noisier than my long wire but as soon as my regular SSTV net started I was blown away by the signal strength on 40m. Flicking between the Longwire and the EF-40/20 I was going from S7 to S9+20 on most of the participants on the net. This far outweighed the slight extra noise I had on the band. I regularly now get contacts on 40m at +20 peaking at +30 which I never ever saw on the longwire.

The thing is, I would have just been happy with that, but the reports I'm getting back from people are excellent. From S5-S9 on the old antenna to "booming in at 20 over" on this one. I've been asked a couple of times now which linear I'm using and have had to tell them that I'm barefoot on the old TS-570. My SSTV pcitures through EasyPal have also improved with transmissions from over 300kms to in the same town as me getting 17db+ SNRs regularly.

The build quality is excellent, and I think I'm going to by a second one for portable work.

I have not had much of a chance to try this on 20m as I don't do a lot on that band at this stage, however the SWR appears rock solid, even better than on 40m so I can only guess the performance will be just as good.

I don't know how they do it, but they do it well.

Great performer and easy to install. Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I gave this a 5 for two reasons. It compares favorably to my multiband dipole on both of the specified bands. In addition, by placing a choke balun at the input to the matching network, I found that the antenna works equally well on 30 meters with SWR's less than 2:1. It is extremely easy to install and works well both at my home station and in ARES field deployments. An excellent choice for an easy to erect multiband field/home antenna

I never thought it could do so good ! Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
First of all, I bought this antenna thank's to this forum, on which I found the information I needed.

Secondly, I bought it, but saying in my head that might be "again a new try with no good results", as I suppose lots of radio hams say.

Indeed, this is THE solution lots of radio ham that want to have something efficient, not too expensive, easy to install, easy to tune, ...

As a matter of fact, I bought this antenna, just to make digital QSO (PSK, RTTY, ...) but quickly noticing the results were so good that there were no reason not to try in Phony.

I may say I use just 40watts in phony and have not much time to qsy "seeking the Dx...".

Despite these apects, I succed with 5/9 reports from France to Canada, USA, ... and Japan. I am all the happier as mine is installed at 2 meters from the ground... behinds trees... and houses !

All my questions received answers in this forum or by Dale (W4OP). Sincerly, I never imagined it could be so good a solution.

Good Antenna Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I did the first vk5 SOTA activation from mt Horrocks vk5/se012 on the weekend .
i used the EF 40/20 with my new KX3 and running at 5 watts for all qso's i made 11 vk qsos on 40m and 20 european qso's on 20m cw.
Antenna was 8m high in middle sloping off as a inverted end fed V for 40m. Both ends were about 3 m off ground. Now for 20m i pulled the antenna back through the hook/loop on top of my pole until the 20m stub was at top of the pole. To make it more like a vertical i lowered the feed point end to about 1.5 m off ground and it became a sloper with a much steeper angle. Straight away i started to get answers to my cq,the 40m end section was just hanging loose .
Bit of an unorthodox looking antenna but i was averaging 559 signal reports from most of my contacts. 73 de Ian convert to EF antenna ..

This is a great antenna. It was easy to tune and it has never let me down. This is my 3rd antenna from PAR/LNR and they are built to last and work so well. You will not regret buying this antenna!
