A very good SWL receiver Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
ETON "ELITE" 750 receiver. (not "Satellit 750")
A very good SWL receiver, indeed.
Many worthwhile features, good sensitivity/selectivity, and not easily blown away in a stiff breeze. (bit of humor) (previous swl rx was Realistic DX-440)
I am a HAM, so comparing this RX to Radio equipment, it is good for general listening and using as monitor in testing of other equipment.(I bought radio to use with my Antenna noise bridge in portable use.) Reminds one of the old time RX's from the Fifties.
I bought radio from Universal Radio in Ohio, Thanks Fred!
FM- is very sensitive, pick up stns that aren't heard well on pocket portables. AM - very good, using the rotating bar antenna. VLF - not so good for me, due to local QRM/QRN noise. SW - very good, very close to commercial ham rx when using a good antenna. The narrow and wide filters help a lot in selectivity, and the receiver internal noise is low. (blows the DX440 out of the water) The "BFO" acts as "clarifier". I like the scanning features.
TWO quirks:
1) in order to enter frequency between 1712 - 2999 Khz. you must push "enter" after entering of freq, or the freq. will revert to previous sw freq selected.
2) The radio will not "scan" memory in "air" band.
all other bands scan nicely.
Overall, very nice receiver, good value, bit clunky,
I would buy another.

A good SWL receiver Time Owned: 6 to 12 months.
This receiver is good for bedside listening. Although it will never rival the performance of a ham grade RX, it does a fine job for me on my night stand. When I can't sleep, it is a good companion for scanning the shortwave bands, earphone tucked firmly into my ear, as I pass a sleepless night. It beats getting out of bed on a chilly night and going to the ham shack. Sure beats a stiff shot of Scotch, one other, but not preferable, means to falling asleep.

"Best of Breed" Time Owned: more than 12 months.
Have owned /collected several different receivers in this class. Does well with regards to audio quality, sensitivity and selectivity with its stock antenna in walkabout configuration. Couple the 750 with an external antenna and, as has been mentioned previously, exceptional performance results in all modes- BCB, SW, Ham, Aero, or FM Broadcast. Robust construction and good battery life. I transport mine in a water-resistant TENBA SlingShot Photo case in which it fits perfectly. Accessory case pockets are used for the AC Adapter, ear buds, a length of wire with an alligator clip, and an antenna plug adapter (BNC/SO239) for virtually any external antenna that you might come upon to use. The only radio you need to take on vacation. As good as it gets !

Great and getting better Time Owned: 3 to 6 months.
I reviewed this radio earlier and have since had the opportunity to add a good outdoor longwire antenna and an antenna tuner. That's right, an antenna tuner. Any ham knows you need to match the antenna to the frequency you are trying to pull in. Many SWLs skip that part of the equation. After adding a simple MFJ mobile tuner this radio really came alive. The internal antenna does a good job and the external antenna adds a lot to the receive capabilities. Add an antenna tuner between the long wire and radio to tune the antenna to the frequency and you have near ham radio receive capabilities. The external Grundig AM loop (available from RS) also adds a lot to the AM band. If someone tells you the Satelit 750 is deaf, buy it from them. Then add an external antenna and a simple inexpensive tuner and you can tune in the world.

I have been a ham since 2005 and have owned several very good receivers. The Satelit 750 is one of my favorites. It will receive ham band signals, both USB and LSB very well even with only the built in antennas. And I have never found another radio that receives AM and FM broadcast as good as this one. The negative comment about the radio sounding off frequency shows the user didn't know how to use the BFO adjustment. I wish people would really read the manuals and learn how to properly use a device before they write a negative review. A lot of those bad reviews are due to operator ignorance instead of a bad product. The workmanship and quality of my 750 is about as good as you can get these days when everything is made in China. It's no Collins radio but will do a lot more than my Collins radios. You won't find a better all band portable in this price range.

Great short wave radio,Stable on frequencey,Works just as good as a more expensive shortwave radio,Ive owned the frg 8800 and the frg 7700 and I find that this radio has a great sound and a real great looking radio.Sorry to say to the other guy ,In every type of radio you will run into a LEMON witch we all have done in the great hobby of Ham And CB Radio.Ive been in this hobby since 1981 with my first cb and shortwave radio,The TRC 216 Walkie Talkie And th Patrolman Shortwave Radio. But if your serious about purchasing a 750 Its WELL WORTH IT.D.J. DON'T DO IT! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This radio cost me £300. It only sounds on frequency when you tune down 1kHz, eg if you want to listen to a station on 7290kHz you must tune to 7289kHz. It's the same on MW and LW. The tuning knob wobbles (mine has a metal one). The knobs feel flimsy. The rotatable antenna makes rustling noises. It's going back and I want a full refund.
