bhi DeskTop Speaker Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
We all know how noisy the Icom 706 series can be and the built in DSP is not the best. Added this speaker to my Midland, Tx. QTH and I am very pleased. I live in a small tight neighborhood with power lines in front and behind the house along with poor ground here in West Texas. With a vertical as my main HF antenna it is the worst case for noise. It can get as high as S10 to S20 depending on the time of day. With the bhi Desktop Speaker in line it does make a difference between hearing and not being able to hear anything. Glad I took the leap!

Great for noise reduction Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
I have just started using the BHI Desktop speaker. It works great as an external speaker for strong signals since you can easily turn of the DSP processing and it works Great for signals down in the noise with the DSP turned on. I have an Icom IC-7700 transceiver with its own DSP processing and this speaker works great with that transceiver's DSP processing and its own DSP processing. For signals way down in the noise, it really helps make them intelligible and understandable.

Works well on static from t-storms and atmospheric noise Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
It worked very well with four levels of filtering. The only mishap was the molded mono plug that is on the cable that connects it's own speaker over to your external rig speaker jack, became intermittant in two weeks with not much handling. Also, the 20 gauge wire for this cable could be a heavier gauge. a trip to Radio Shack for a new plug solved the issue. The sample audio clips on the BHI website is exactly what I experienced, I'm not degrading the rating for the intermittant problem with the plug.
