Great way to study for any of the tests! Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
This is a terrific free resource. There's a competing product on the market that charges big money for this same thing. Fred Lloyd, AA7BQ put up QRZ.com as the first ham radio site on the Internet, and it was literally one of the first websites anywhere. That was 30 years ago. Then, after a decade of growing QRZ he started to add new services and products for QRZ members. One of them is the HamTest section at QRZ (find under "Resources" link at the top in menu bar). QRZ has all three of the current question question pools loaded. The software helps you because it preselects (just as the FCC does) a selection of 35 or 50 questions (depending upon the test) and the experience is just like sitting in a VE session. Plus, the QRZ goes one further, and allows you to zero in on any of the sub-categories of study that are necessary in order to Ace the exam. It's fun, user-friendly, and easy to do. After a couple of weeks, you've got enough knowledge to ace the test. You can always combine this with any of the books available and use it to nail the exam. There's no cost to this service, so worthwhile!

A well thought out Practice Exam - Free Time Owned: 0 to 3 months.
After trying a few of the free exam services and almost signing up for a not so free service, I stumbled across the Practice Exams on QRZ.com.

I logged in, took and failed a few Extra Class exams. Each exam included different questions from the question pool and listed how many of the pool questions I had correctly answered.

The program indicated the areas where I needed more study. I then focused of those areas and after 5 evenings I was passing the full exams at about 80 to 90 percent.

Today I went down to my local VEC and passed the Extra with colors. A week, well spent !! Thanks QRZ !!!!
