That people give their opinion with sugar, not vinegar. It will make what they have to say further our hobby, encourage innovation and pride (it's not a dirty word!) from the silent majority.

I would like to see the FCC really sink their teeth into the illegal operations on the CB band and the interlopers on 10 meters.

I would like to see 10 meters open ...WIDE~!

I would love to get a 746 ICOM as the next base rig for the shack.

I would love to see my XYL and kids re-develop their activity in the service.

And JUST ONCE- I would like to put up a FREAKING LONG WIRE THAT THE TREE RATS DON'T CHEW THROUGH (I would settle for them chewing with one foot on the braid and the other on the Long side while CW on 160....)

Been licensed all most a year. Need to get a rig (857D?) and get on the air.

I wish I could put up a better antenna (sigh).

I look forward to completing Extra within the next 2-3 months (God willing).

I am grateful that hams are just about the most congenial and helpful folks on the earth.

I wish that CW guys could just be proud of their skills and use them to their hearts content without expressing contempt for those who choose not to learn Morse or declaring that amateur radio is going to hell in a handbasket because FCC deleted the code tests.

I with that I could live another hundred years to see what ham radio will be like in the twenty-second century. Maybe they'll be homebrewing teleporters.

Cheers and have fun, everyone.

Wish: FREE-to-Use replacement for costly CQ100 (VoIP S-W)

I'd like to see a cost-free replacement for the Ham Radio simulator / VoIP program known as "CQ100" (which I've reviewed, elsewhere on eHam.net)

Too few people use CQ100, as it costs US$ 32 (annual subscription fees) to keep alive.

As a result, very few young hams are keeping in-touch with the few Old Timers, who use it.

Older Hams, who do use CQ100 have few others for QSOs & most of them are also up in age.

It's healthier for all to have a range of ages represented in any Ham Radio context.

Perhaps someone can develop a radio-like front-end (a bit like CQ100's) for the more powerful, cost-free EchoLink program, that people of all ages use today...?

It would also be nice if the replacement program would allow ANYONE interested to listen-in, so they maybe get interested in the Hobby.

Of course, this is more likely if folks of all ages are represented & active on the new medium.

I hope that whoever builds the (proposed) better CQ100-like [program] "mousetrap" will release its source code under an Open Source license, so that others can develop it further.

My 2 cents...

Finish grad school so I have more time for the radios.

Build a 160m antenna.

Get a second HF rig to keep at home, current one is in the car. I think it should be the Icom IC-730 that I first played with too many years ago thank you Milt for having it along on all the Boy Scout Trips.

Do the outside antenna install the right way so it will last and be protected.
