Yes, and had fun
I enjoyed field day operating at a local park with members of our club. Made lots of contacts, ate pizza and told off color jokes. Couldn’t have been better.

No
I do backpacking ops on my own and like it that way. Mostly CW, the SSB "crowd" are not my cup of tea. Field Day with my local "clubs" are out because those guys are for the most part, to put it mildly, jerks, in my area. And to be honest, I'm beginning to lose interest in the hobby due to most of the people I encounter in person and on the air. Mostly just doing radio restoration and SWL/BCB stuff now.

Nope …
I do a LOT of portable ops, all CW, doing POTA and WWFF. But FD leaves me cold. I enjoyed the social aspect of it back in the 90s when a group within the club made it a lot of fun. But many are SK now, others inactive. Fact is, because I’m retired, I rarely turn the radio on during the weekend as I have all week to to play radio, and not contend with contests, while weekends are open for family activities.

Survey results not surprising
It's a safe bet the majority of hams do not participate in FD, and probably never have or will. I find it ironic many claim one of the main goals of FD is to prepare for emergency communications. Let's talk about the elephant in the room. What are the odds an emergency call would be heard during FD operations? Especially a weak signal emergency call? This is the reason I've always been a proponent of limiting contest spectrum (on each contest band) used during contests. Granted emergency calls are rare, but they can and do happen. Imagine the bad press Ham Radio would get if an emergency call couldn't get through during FD operations.

FD
Operating all CW from my home station this year I find the ARRL changes for class D stations to be more interesting. During Covid I operated using the club call along with others from our home stations and that worked out well. This I've noted my club in the log to be aggregated with the club score.
Next year back to the field and mosquitoes, as it should be.

FIELD DAY
Yes we had 3 stations running..Two of the stations were using IC7300..CW&SSB..The digital station was on a FT-991A..The CW and SSB stations could be on the same band as the digital for they would be wiped out..We learned..next year bring better radio's

With a Club
I did some CW operating for our Club VE7NA Station. We had a great site overlooking the Strait and other smaller Gulf Islands. We had one of the best Field Days in years. 73 Gerry

Field Day
Just another contest and I don't do contests. My radio is off from the start to the end as the bands are completely saturated. What if there was a real emergency?

Shocked
I am shocked at the percentage of hams that DIDN'T go to or have a field day.

Not since Covid
I have been doing Field day for many decades with many clubs. Enjoyed many different support positions for field day. The risk of Covid due to the close quarters of field day has cancelled my involvement with field day.
Field day is the only "contest" that I would participate in.

Field Day 2022
I was somewhat disappointed in this year's Field Day because of what I had heard about previous Field Days of many years ago. Will I go again? Yes, but will have my equipment that I have acquired since my first Field Day.

Field Day
At my age and in Florida sadly inside with AC is pretty much needed. Done about 40 traditional Field Days over the years -- tents, RVs, EOCs, Tarps over picnic tables -- and still have a portable station in Pelican cases with masts, coax, antennas, and a 2KW inverter generator in the garage ready to go if needed. If I have to I can put a good HF station on the air by myself in a couple hours. But my days of doing it just for fun are behind me.

The way it should be
Field day in the field, with the group, as it should be. It's my favorite event. Camping out, trying to play radio all night, great food, great camaraderie, it just doesn't get any better than that.
If ham radio were a religion, it would have two holy festivals each year: Hamvention and Field Day. For the latter, services are held the fourth full weekend each June at "Our Lady of the Dipole!.

Something I'd never done before
I rode with my section manager and we went and visited most of the Field Days sites in the section. 14 hours, 400 miles, had a great time.

Not this year.
I have at least give out a few contacts during Field Day in past years. Just didn't get around to it this year.

Field Day
Field Day is a ham radio tradition. Too bad the newer guys don't appreciate it like us old timers. Been to FD close to 50 times, all in the field. The way it should be. K2DFC

Nope --- Not Even From The Home Or Cottage This Year...
Time & circumstances conspired against me this year...
I can recall YEARS ago, however, when Field Day was THE big annual event for me & our club...alas, no more!
